OMG!(Oh my gulay), VOCAS(Victor oteyza community art space) at la azotea building, Session Road

v  VOCAS
This café is a work of art, literally. Once you step inside, it’s like you’re in a museum full of recycled art and the paintings are very powerful and wonderful at the same time. Vocas is located at the top floor of the La Azotea building that’s why the view in the terrace, which is a smoking area, is mind blowing! It is a haven for artists and a great place to think or just be emo (“emotional”… not the bird).  It is also a great place to have a candlelit dinner without dressing up in a formal suit. The food that they serve are organic and for Vegans only. No pork or chicken here guys.    =).

The downside of Vocas is the 10% service charge and you have to climb up 4 (or is it 5?) flights of stairs which is really a joint breaking experience for me and you’ll be begging the waitress  for a drink once you have conquered the dreaded stairwell.  So if you’re going to have a lunch meeting here, then I strongly suggest that you don’t make your ass late. Nevertheless, the cool Baguio breeze that dances inside this café will dry your perspiring armpit in no time! (^_^)

  • Budget: 220PHP per head(Food, drink and service charge included)
  •  Has a 10% service charge.
  •  Smoking and non-smoking area
  •  Mind blowing view
  •  Good place to have a date.
  • Check-out the pics below.

The flying gecko/Bruno's on Session road

v  The Flying Gecko/Bruno’s
The Flying gecko and Bruno’s are two café’s that are adjacent to each other.  The Flying gecko is sort of an exposed café where you can see people walking along the streets of Session road…. And they can see you too..(It’s not that spooky, trust me) But if you want a little privacy then just walk a few steps inside the café and there you will find, Bruno’s. They offer the same Food and drink and there’s no service charge.  The Café offers free WIFI and you can actually charge your laptops here for free.  (Hehehehehehehehehe….)  The Sangria and finger foods are delicious.
Downside: The prices of the food are a bit expensive for me but I see a lot of foreigners eating here so I guess it wouldn’t hurt if you tried one of their specialties  =) and besides, It’s a WIFI zone and you can plug in your laptop in  their sockets for free so I wouldn’t blame them if they don’t come cheap, eh? =)
  • ·         Budget: 300PHP per person (Food and Drink included)
  • ·         You guessed it!  The Flying gecko/Bruno’s is Located along Session Road.
  • ·         WIFI area
  • ·         No service charge
  • ·         Bruno’s closes at 12 Am while The Flying gecko is a 24 hour Cafe.

Cafe's and Restos along Session Road

v
ü  Ionic Cafe
I loooooove the coffee in Ionic (All of different kinds of coffee they serve).  It has a rich aroma and taste.  The Place is like a rendezvous for big time mafia bosses because of the dark, classy interiors and it is also a good place to read a book or two and have intellectual conversations.  Most of the space that covers this area is for smokers (of cigarettes), so don’t be surprised when you walk in the café and find a little haze covering the air. The tables are quite a bit far from each other so you will have a little private space for yourself.  Don’t worry, there’s also a non-smoking area at the entrance of the café.  Ionic is also located along Session road.  It’s at the second floor of Solibao Restaurant.  (See it’s like a secret club for big time gangsters/rockers right?!?)  =D.  Their music is great (Maksim Marvica, Instrumentals). The Café closes at 2Am.

The Downside of Ionic is the food and the old table cloths full of cigarette burns. You also start to suffocate a little bit when the place is packed because the café is quite small.   But still, the place is clean and they have one refill for their regular coffee worth 50PHP. =)

Budget: 100 bucks per person (You’re going to have to order two drinks because your throat is going to get dry if you’re planning to have long conversations with your buddies in this cafe)
  •    Located at Session Road
  •    Superb Coffee
  •    You feel like you’re one of the Mafia when you hang out here.
  •  No service Charge
